EMPOWER is a user supported system that requires little or no technical staff involvement.   User departments manage their own information, run their own reports and queries, and control their own rules and configuration details.

While it is always good to have talented staff members available, there is absolutely no need for the skills of a Database Administrator or other specialized IT professional.

Schools appoint an EMPOWER Champion who is the institution’s overall expert on EMPOWER. The Champion answers institutional questions, interfaces with our staff, and generally oversees the system.  This assignment is a part-time job and may require a few hours each week.

The Champion needs a strong background in the school’s practices, but does not need a technical background.  General computer skills are helpful but we teach the Champion what he/she needs to know to be successful.
